AAMS AIMS HIGHER WITH VIDEO ARTS
Each year, Video Arts Studios completes a series of touching videos for the Association of Air Medical Services Awards (AAMS). These award videos help AAMS recognize excellence and leadership in the emergency medical transport field. For the AAMS awards banquet in Tampa, Florida, Video Arts producer Tricia O’Connor worked closely with Glenn Lyden of Mayo Clinic Medical Transport, Rochester, MN, and Melissa Kraft of the Association of Air Medical Services, Alexandria, VA, to make the latest group of awards videos the best ever!
A lot of behind-the-scenes work goes into making the AAMS award videos. Memorabilia from the various winners (who are from departments all over the country) has to be collected by AAMS staff and shipped to Video Arts. Then all of the brochures, pictures, and other memorabilia have to be scanned into the computer to capture the images. Meanwhile, scripts are being written and recorded and laid down in the editing suite. Once all of the “raw” materials are collected, then it’s time to edit them into a video.
But don’t forget the music! Individual music tracks must also be selected to promote the feel of each award winner and the stories behind why they were selected as winners. In all, Video Arts created eight awards videos for the banquet. Making the AAMS videos is an especially rewarding project to work on because the awards go to people and programs whose mission it is to save lives everyday! Established in 1980, the Association of Air Medical Services is an international association that serves providers of air and surface medical transport systems. Its mission is to assure that every person has access to quality air medical and critical care transport. |
