Scheels All Sports – Play Ball!

“From the dusty infield, across the grass, and over the fence the drama of comebacks and close calls unfolds…”

With these engaging words, the thirty-second radio spot for Scheels All Sports begins.

Established in 1902, Scheels All Sports is now a 22-store operation spanning seven states throughout the Midwest; North & South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Montana and Nebraska.

Written by Barb Pates, marketing director of Scheels All Sports, this latest spot pays homage to the days of summer, bringing the listener right onto the field. Whether it’s the smell of new leather as you prepare to snag a line drive with your Wilson A2000 glove or you’re at the plate facing loaded bases with your new Miken Freak bat in hand, you’re ready; knowing your first stop of the season was at Scheels All Sports.

Local talent Preston Boyd provided the voice for this hot summer baseball campaign. Boyd, a favorite talent of Video Arts’ vocal arm, Hired Gums, provided just the right touch of realism to the piece.

Preston’s recent accomplishments and accolades include receiving scholarships from the Donna Reed Foundation for the Performing Arts in vocal & musical theatre catagories, and being selected as a National Foundation for Advancement of the Arts National Finalist in Classical Voice. Pictured here, Preston rehearsed & performed with internationally renowned vocalist Placido Domingo at The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts' (NFAA) An Affair of the Arts Performance & Gala in January of this year.
