VIDEO ARTS STUDIOS HELPS BRING NEW HISTORY CHANNEL SERIES TO CABLE
Video Arts is pleased to announce its contribution to MonsterQuest, a new weekly series on The History Channel®. Video Arts collaborated with WhiteWolf Entertainment and Bosch Media in partnership with CableReady, in creating two episodes of MonsterQuest. MonsterQuest: Mutant Canines premiered Wednesday, December 5th, and MonsterQuest: Swamp Beast airs Wednesday, December 26th, at 9 pm CST (10 pm ET).
The History Channel’s® MonsterQuest series looks into sightings of mysterious creatures from history. MonsterQuest: Mutant Canines uncovers the mysteries behind a rash of dog killings across the country by a beast some people describe as a mutant.
In 2006, several family pet dogs were brutally attacked and killed in Maine and Minnesota. Locals say the freakish creature is unlike anything they’ve ever seen before and there may be evidence to prove mutant canines exist. For MonsterQuest: Mutant Canines, DNA researchers at New York University were charged with finding out, once and for all, what kind of beasts are out there killing dogs.
To uncover the mystery of the mutant canines, WhiteWolf Entertainment and Bosch Media asked Video Arts Studios to travel to Maine and Minnesota to interview witnesses and follow two MonsterQuest expeditions into the wilds of those states. Using night-vision technologies, high-velocity cameras and baited traps, the teams hoped to lure and capture other elusive dog killers.
For MonsterQuest: Swamp Beast, Video Arts Studios traveled to the vast, murky waters of Louisiana and Florida to attempt to capture a beast locals call The Swamp Creature on high-definition video. At 7 feet tall, with red hair and a rotten egg smell, this beast has been nicknamed The Skunk Ape. For the first time, bloodhounds used sexual ape pheromone chips to track down their prey.
“It was exciting to have the opportunity to work with Bosch Media and The History Channel on their MonsterQuest series,” said Mary Ann Phillips, Vice President of Video Arts Studios. “The Video Arts Studios creative team worked closely with the network to provide good storytelling in this thrilling series.”
MonsterQuest is produced by WhiteWolf Entertainment and Bosch Media in partnership with CableReady. Executive Producers are Dale Bosch and Doug Hajicek. Executive Producer for The History Channel® is Michael Stiller.
